Neighbors in Need | Local Families To Receive Thanksgiving Cheer
Nearly two decades ago, employees at Stafford's Pier in Harbor Springs and Stafford's Weathervane Restaurant in Charlevoix teamed with their guests to create the "Neighbors in Need" program. Complete Thanksgiving dinners are delivered to area families by volunteers who prepare, package and deliver the meals.
The staff at Stafford’s Pier Restaurant work closely with Salvation Army, The Manna Food Project, Harbor Springs Food Bank, Women's Resource Center and local churches.
Stafford's Weathervane Restaurant will work with local health and human service agencies such as the local churches, Manna Food Project, Charlevoix Area Food Pantry and the Women’s Resource Center to identify families in need. They are also working closely with Charlevoix’s teachers to seek families who would not request aid, but are grateful to be recipients.
Last year, over 125 families enjoyed a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, thanks to the generosity of Stafford’s staff and guests.
“During this holiday season, we are hoping to make Thanksgiving a truly memorable one for each and every family in Charlevoix County,” Paul Andrzejewski, general manager of Stafford’s Weathervane said.
Cristen Smith, Assistant General Manager at Stafford's Pier Restaurants notes, “With the generous contributions of our neighbors and Stafford’s Hospitality, the possibilities are endless. Thank you to our community for the support.”
