Spreading Thanksgiving Cheer to Local Families in Need
SPREADING THANKSGIVING CHEER TO LOCAL FAMILIES IN NEED
This year marks the 21st year of the “Neighbors in Need” program.
Each year, Stafford’s Pier Restaurant in Harbor Springs and Weathervane Restaurant in Charlevoix unite with their guests to feed families in need in our local community on Thanksgiving Day. This program arranges for curbside pick-up of complete Thanksgiving dinners to area families led by volunteers who prepare and package the meals at each respective restaurant.
Stafford’s Pier Restaurant works closely with Salvation Army, The Manna Food Project, Harbor Springs Food Pantry, Women's Resource Center, and local churches. NEW this year – cash donations will be made to the Northmen Den Youth Pantry.
Stafford's Weathervane Restaurant works closely with local churches, Manna Food Project, Charlevoix Area Food Pantry and the Women’s Resource Center to identify families in need. They are also working closely with Charlevoix’s teachers to seek families who would not request aid, but are grateful for the generous gesture.
Since 2003, the Stafford’s Hospitality Neighbors in Need program has served nearly 18,800 individuals in our local community by delivering traditional Thanksgiving dinners to families who don’t have the means to celebrate this special holiday. This act of kindness would not be possible without the generosity of the Stafford’s staff and guests contributing time and resources. The goal this year is to raise $14,000.
